The Facebook Song

September 22, 2006

Man that movie was good. I just got back from it with Josh. He almost puked and I screamed a lot. I usually hate paying $7 to see a movie in the theatre, but I think I will ignore that today. I don't want to ruin it, but if you liked the first, or the TV show, this will be worth it. I think it's already on Google video...

Terrorist Screensaver

This lovely website is brought to you from the genius-bloggers over at The Daily Irrelevant. It had the caption "Here is a nice animation to use as a screensaver for your laptop if security wants to check it at the airport."

random video

I just found this cool video on Google Video. It's for Mae's Summertime. It's not the real video, but it's a great idea for a full fledged video. If anyone becomes a hollywood director...

Check it out here!

Yay for Illustrator!

I messed around with Photoshop and Illustrator the other day when I was supposed to be working on my website. I didn't make anything good in Photoshop, because it's hard to use at first, but I did get some ideas. Illustrator is much easier though. I made some neat pictures. In fact I think I will venture to say they are 'super-rad', at least to me.

This one is for my portfolio website. The site is blue, btw.

I like this photo. That's all.

Ok, this photo sucks. I didn't take the time to do it right. But I thought it was a really funny idea. Everytime you masturbate, my indian friends growl at a kitten.

I did the sepia on my camera. I finally learned how.

more messing with illustrator.

You're the echoes of my everything,
You're the emptiness the whole world sings at night.
You're the laziness of afternoon,
You're the reason why I burst and why I bloomed..
You're the leaky sink of sentiment,
You're the failed attempts I never could forget.
You're the metaphors I can't create to comprehend this curse that I call love..
How will I break the news to you?

You're the echoes of my everything,
You're the emptiness the whole world sings at night.
You're the laziness of afternoon,
You're the reason why I burst and why I bloom..
How will I break the news to you?

stupid school

So i'm actually in class right now, listening to my English prof talk about graphic software like Visio, Photoshop and Illustrator. He's taking a picture from a english department picnic and taking out the beers in the picture so they can be posted on the iowa state website.

Anyway, next week one of my friends turns 21. Everything was looking good, but now I have a ton of work to do. I have a website due two days after that i've been working on for weeks now. The day after I have a test, early in the morning the next day. All my professors have decided that horrendous weekly assignments are good for student's stress levels. I'm upset enough to type in between way-word glances from my english prof.

stupid school. School < bars. I hope you all agree.

The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Warning: Watch the movie first. I will spoil parts of it.

Tonight I watched one of my favorite movies, the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (see IMDB). This movie always has, and always will, remind me of my best friend. I'm not sure why, since the two are not connected in anyway. We never watched the movie together, and I'm not sure we ever talked about it. It also makes me sad. Like a lonely sad. But it is very rarely a bad sad (you can tell I've seen it many times). It kinda makes me nostalgic sad, but not for the past. It's more for the future. It's a mixture of everything good that the movie reminds me of, added to the hopeful oportunities of the future. Especially the part towards the end where they decide to start over and try again. It's when Clementine says she will get bored of Joel and he will get fed up with her impulsiveness, and he just says "OK". Like even if it ends bad, and they are miserable again, it will be worth it. That is what true love is about. I've seen friends do that, and get back together as if nothing happened. It's as if they literally cannot stay apart. There is a deep spiritual attraction that they have for eachtother that continually brings them back together. I love that whole idea. I hope my wife understands this movie, because it very well could be my favorite movie.

check out the music video for the song "Everyboy's Gotta Learn Sometime" covered by Beck fot the movie. Good song, odd video.

How happy is the blameless Vestal's lot!
The world forgetting, by the world forgot
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind!
Each pray'r accepted, and each wish resign'd.
