Fluffy Cloud Dreams

I had a really strange dream last night/this morning. Actually I had bunch that I vaguely remember. In one of them my lil' brothers, my Dad and I were on the roof of an apartment complex (possibly UMKC) and people were throwing inflated baseballs at us, trying to get us to play catch. I thought someone was going to fall off. At one point the clouds formed into the name of some company and you could see multiple moons outlined in some of the characters.

In another one (or were they the same one) I was hanging out with a bunch of people the morning after a night on the town. There were around 7 girls and they were all really nice and really attractive. And a few of them were totally flirting with me etc. I think we also moved some stuff into my room because it needed to be stored somewhere. It really made me wonder what happened the night before.

In the last dream I was at a very fancy resort with my ex, and I guess we were dating. We were walking around the balcony in the main building which was made of stone. There was an oval ceiling held up by massive stone pillars. The whole thing was open air and very pretty. So was the view all the way around the building, including these large white, fluffy clouds. We were walking back into the main part when I looked to my left to say something. She smiled at me, but I noticed something behind her. Through the pillars on the far end of the building I saw the clouds start to rotate. As they swirled, they formed a white tornado which began to come towards the building. I figured we were safe inside, but it was very open air, so I tried to get her to get down on the ground for cover. She wasn't going for it - "I don't need you to protect me". Then the tornado bounced off the building about 200 feet away, and took one of the stone pillars with it. I saw it circle around and head back for more. I knew we weren't safe. So I basically tackled the girl to the ground, since she was still fighting, and watched as the tornado came back to finish off the building... end of dream. Very strange if you ask me.

Happy Blog Day!

I just learned from a fellow blogger that today is Blog Day! The idea is to celebrate bloggers/blogging and to get to know "other bloggers from other countries and areas of interest". The suggest recommending 5 other blogs to your readers. So I'm going to do just that. The problem is that I tend to link to the blogs I read anyway, so I'll try to find ones that I don't talk about all the time.

  • The Daily Irrelevant - This blog includes funny pictures, political stories, some tech stuff, and just interesting stories from around the globe. My favorite are the photos tagged with "If you're in marketing, kill yourself".
  • Cybernet News - I just have to plug these guys once more. Ryan and his wife Ashley run a technology blog out of here in Ames! I met Ryan through a year long project here at ISU. It turns out that his website has supported him and his wife for the past few years, which I think is awesome. I've learned a ton about the internet and blogging through Ryan. Be sure to comment too!
  • Himynameismark - Everyone has heard of Blink 182. Since their hiatus Mark Hoppus (bass) has been playing with Travis Barker (drums) in their new band +44. He also has been producing some great albums such as Commit This to Memory. This blog is about all of his travels, shows and gripes about the music industry. He also has a podcast by the same name!
  • xkcd - Besides drawing one of my favorite webcomics, xkcd, Mr. Munroe also writes a blog. Or as he calls it, a blag. It's full of nerdy humor, but also very interesting. A lot of it is based on crazy ideas that he came up with, such as dream typing or kite photography. My favorite post is actually based on a comic of his about rollercoaster chess.
  • Yelling About Music- Besides writing his amazing comic Questionable Content, J. Jacques joined a communal blog about music. I haven't read anything yet, but if it's anything like his comic, it will involve a lot of indie music and making fun of bands in general.

Leave a comment and let me know which ones you guys like.

And don't forget, I always have links in the sidebar of my friend's blogs and the websites that I enjoy.

Koo, I'm looking at you on this one....

Could someone explain to me why our friends to the East think that drinking this tea (or eating cookies) will increase you bust size? That's right, for around $1.25 you can eat the recommended 2 cookies a day and be on your way to tighter fitting shirts.

I got mail!

Last week I got homemade cookies. This week my mom sent me boxers. She said they are because getting up for 8 o'clock classes was hard for even her. Oh mom, you are a hoot!

Snail Mail

Today a series of events happened. Well not all of them were today. Let me explain.

I got a text today from my mother, telling that I got a letter today in the mail (in MN) from my previous landlord (in IA). The landlord said that I needed to pay the electricity bill, which is strange because I always paid that straight to the city. They came to me when it was late, and I talked to them when there was a problem. On top of that, I took my name off that bill two months ago, and they sent me a letter acknowledging that I had done so. I also was told that my name was going to be taken off the lease, seeing as how I don't live there anymore.

So how did I get a letter from a landlord that I don't lease from and a city that I don't have an account with, in the wrong state? That's where a little imagination comes in. My mother figured it out though. Since Gym never put his name on the electricity bill that I took my name off of, the city sent a letter to our landlord about paying the bill, who in turn sent us a letter. When I moved out, I had my mail forwarded to my parent's house in MN. Since my name was the first on the lease, and therefor first on the mailing address, USPS saw that my mail was forwarded and did so.

So I made sure to call Gym right after I got that text to tell him that he owes the city $14 or they were going to turn off their power. Funny thing is, they lost power earlier this morning! Interesting how that works, eh? I guess the mail is slower than I thought.

I did it again. But this time it was someone different.
